According to market soures, PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) has unexpectedly shut one of its 400,000 tons/year LLDPE plant this week due to lack of ethylene supply.
Based in Map Ta Phut, Thailand, the LLDPE plant is expected to remain off-stream for 2 weeks, while another LLDPE plant is still operating as usual. A source closed to the company informed that the supply of 7420D LLDPE grade shall be back to regular by September.
In addition, as reported earlier, the company’s subsidiary, Bangkok Polyethylene will be having 2-weeks planned turnaround for its 300,000 tons/year LDPE plant located at the same site.
