The Chinese government on late 8 August 2018 announced that the country will impose 25 per cent tariff on 333 products import from the USA starting 23 August 2018.
These products include petrochemical products listed in the following table:
The announcement comes soon after the USA push ahead with the plan to impose new tariffs of 25 per cent on Chinese imports that worth USD 16 billion starting 23 August.
Industry experts are not expecting the tension between the two countries ebbing anytime so soon, which also clouded the petrochemical industry.
