Sources closed to the producer informed that PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) is planning to resume operation at its LDPE line in the coming week after an unexpected technical issue hit the unit during late November 2018.

The plant produces 300,000 tons/year of LDPE.

The restart is later than the initial estimation, which resulted in supply tightness, and as a result, the maker has not opened any new spot offers over the past several weeks for this grade. Vietnamese traders reportedly re-exported LDPE film Mi: 4 grade to Thailand due to attractive price levels here.

“We expect the producer to resume offering in the coming week, too,” a distributor added.
