It is reported that a major local producer in Indonesia has announced fresh weekly PP and PE offers at unchanged levels compared to the previous price announcement. Sources point to the strengthening Rupiah against the US dollars and diminishing demand as a result of the price decision.

It appears that the producer is not the only one maintaining offers, but major traders in the country are implementing similar trend. Players started questioning the pre-Ramadan demand condition now that purchasing interest seems very weak across the country.
“We have comfortable inventories on hand. End products must get on the shelves latest by mid of May. We might slowly wind down replenishment in the coming weeks,” a packaging converter said.
