Despite today’s LLDPE film auction being offered around CNY150/ton lower than Monday, the reduced prices failed to spur meaningful buying interest

Auction time: Monday – Friday, 10 AM – 12 PM
Key takeaways:
Shenhua’s latest auction reversed from its strong performance in the previous session, as PP and LLDPE futures on the Dalian Commodity Exchange opened on a weak note Tuesday, extending recent losses before staging a modest rebound in the morning session. The recovery in PP futures was slightly firmer than that of LLDPE.
Auction results mirrored the futures trend. PP deals performed comparatively better than LLDPE, though both lagged behind the previous day’s levels. Despite today’s LLDPE film auction being offered around CNY150/ton lower than Monday, the reduced prices failed to spur meaningful buying interest, underscoring the market’s overall weakness—particularly in the LLDPE film.
“With the end of the month approaching, buyers are increasingly cautious about the PE outlook,” said one market source. “This period typically marks the peak demand season for agricultural film and packaging converters, but this year’s agricultural film demand has been delayed by persistent rainfall. Looking ahead, growing concerns over increased import arrivals from November could further weigh on prices.”
