Shenhua Auction: Stabilizing futures support improved PP, LLDPE transactions ahead of weekend

PP and LLDPE futures on the Dalian Commodity Exchange held within a tight range Friday morning, lending a measure of stability to Shenhua’s daily resin auction.
Trading picked up from the previous session, led by homo-PP yarn, as modest CNY 30/ton discounts spurred stronger buying interest and lifted deal volumes.
In the spot market, homo-PP yarn was offered between CNY 6,350–6,550/ton, while LLDPE film stood at CNY 6,750–7,000/ton. Lower auction prices, which were more competitive than prevailing spot market levels, encouraged some replenishment buying, though overall activity remained measured.
According to one market participant, “We’ve seen better demand for discounted cargoes since yesterday afternoon. The stabilizing futures today are helping sustain need-based purchases, though many buyers remain cautious ahead of the weekend and uncertain if this stability will continue next week.”
