Market participants cited less competitive pricing as the key factor dampening interest. Grades that did transact were sold at more reasonable levels, attracting limited, need-based purchases.

“Prices have been moving within a narrow range recently, but buyers remain highly selective and are exploring alternative sourcing options,” a local trader said. “As long as auction prices remain unattractive, it will be difficult to stimulate broader demand. This indicates persistent challenges for a solid price rebound, and the near-term outlook remains cautious.”

Despite the ongoing traditional manufacturing season, demand has been noticeably weaker than in prior years. Market observers noted that earlier frontloading may have tempered downstream replenishment, keeping sentiment subdued.

Ample domestic supply and comfortable inventory levels across the value chain continue to weigh on the market. Buyers are expected to remain cautious in the near term, entering only when prices reach sufficiently competitive levels.
