Unplanned shutdown at Japan’s JXTG Nippon cracker

According to market sources, JXTG Nippon Oil and Energy is planning to shut its cracker by early next week owing to emergency repairs.
Based in Kawasaki, Japan, the cracker is able to produce 448,000 tons/year of ethylene and 273,000 tons/year of propylene. It is expected to remain off-stream for about 8-10 days.
