Local PP and PE offers in Indonesia journey north on exchange rate
A major local producer in Indonesia has announced fresh PP and PE offers for the week with increases of $10-13/ton. The firming trend is mostly attributed to the weakening Rupiah against the US dollar while demand condition remains soft.

Sources reported that demand for PE in Solo seems to be better than other areas in the country as suppliers can fetch better prices here. “One issue is that supply for LLDPE film in the local ground remain comfortable. The hike might create some resistance, and we are waiting for customer feedback now,” a trader said.
