Japan’s ENEOS on track to restart Kawasaki cracker

ENEOS Corporation is planning to restart its naphtha cracker in Kawasaki by mid to end of January 2021 after the company completely shut the unit in early December 2020 to fix a technical issue.
The cracker has an annual capacity of 515,000 tons/year of ethylene, 300,000 tons/year of propylene, and 105,000 tons/year of butadiene.
The restart of ENEOS Corp’s cracker come together with three other major crackers in South Korea, which expected to ease the ethylene supply tightness in the region toward the end of January to early February 2021.
ENEOS Corp formerly known as JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy renamed the corporate identity in June 2020 as part of the company’s 2040 vision.
