Over the past week, sales results in the export market have been disappointing, yet the low stock levels discourage the producer from making any downward adjustments.
Market sources said the sharp reductions in PP random copolymers and LDPE cargoes clearly underline the state of demand for these grades, from which buyers are expressing buying ideas at way below the price list.
Several trading houses told CommoPlast of the lack of inquiries for spot HDPE and LLDPE film and many buyers would opt for further delivery schedules cargoes at more competitive prices.
Despite the muted trading sentiment, local producers decided to maintain a firm stance on spot PP and PE cargoes to reflect the low inventory pressure.
In Vietnam, bids emerge at between $30-50/ton below the initial price list. The producer is scheduled to announce the final prices on Tuesday, 25 July.

A key Saudi Arabia producer has reportedly opened August shipment offers for PP and PE to Asia largely with increases from July, taking advantage of the upward momentum in this region while supply is tight due to the recent production disruption.
