A major local producer in Indonesia reportedly cut local spot PP prices on the first trading day of the week in a response to the weakening import ground due to lacking purchasing interest.
Transaction prices have been softer compared to the previous trading session, however, buyers remain cautious about making purchases.
Buyers are waiting for additional discounts to emerge citing the falling support from upstream costs and demand.

Southeast Asia players are watching closely on how long this downtrend would last, though there have been opinions that sellers might not reduce prices to the level observed before the Lunar New Year because supply is still yet to fully recover.

India is expected to see local supply substantially curtail for the period April to May in the absence of major local producers.
Styrene monomer price peak out on 8 March 2021 and constantly weakening since then, shedding $189/ton along to way to $1117/ton FOB South Korea as of 18 March 2021.
Having said so, players are concerned over the local supply outlook in the coming month, especially for PE due to the lack of import arrivals.
