Indian Major Cuts Local PVC Prices, Setting a Weak Tone for October
The Indian PVC market entered October on a bearish note after a leading domestic producer slashed spot prices by INR 3,000/ton ($34/ton) from its previous levels, citing subdued demand and ample supply. Market participants said the move is expected to sustain pressure on overseas suppliers in the near term.
Industry sources also noted that the implementation of anti-dumping duties (ADD) is unlikely before the end of the 90-day window, which expires on 13 November. In the meantime, reports indicated that as much as 200,000 tons of imported PVC arrived in India during September, ensuring comfortable supply conditions in the domestic market.
