Indonesia’s polyolefin rally extends as major raises prices for fifth consecutive round

Indonesia’s major producer announced a fifth consecutive price increase on 2 November, with PP grades attracting significantly steeper hikes than PE amid record-high propylene costs and tight prompt availability. However, the latest increases could further test buyers’ price tolerance as elevated offers continue to outpace improvements in end-product demand.

Propylene FOB South Korea reached a historical high last week, strengthening cost support for PP, while PE demand received some seasonal support from converters preparing for the first-quarter 2027 festive season.

Delayed import arrivals, further tightened prompt availability, forcing some buyers to turn to the producer to cover immediate requirements. Distribution inventories were also reported to be extremely limited, with some distributors holding back offers amid expectations of further price increases.

Saudi Aramco raises November LPG OSPs for fourth consecutive month amid escalating supply risks

Saudi Aramco raised its November LPG official selling prices (OSPs) for a fourth consecutive month, increasing propane by $40/ton and butane by $50/ton, as escalating Middle Eastern supply disruptions and surging crude prices reinforced upstream cost pressure.

The latest revisions bring cumulative increases since August to $140/ton for propane and $180/ton for butane. Rising energy benchmarks, following attacks on regional energy infrastructure and disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, have further tightened the global supply outlook. Meanwhile, Asian buyers continue to face higher landed costs as vessel diversions around the Cape of Good Hope extend transit times.
