No tariffs after all: Indonesia scraps PP anti-dumping plan
Indonesia has decided not to impose anti-dumping duties (BMAD) on homo-PP imports from eight countries, concluding that the measure would not serve the country's national interest despite earlier findings that dumped imports had caused material injury to domestic producers.
With the government's latest decision, none of the recommended anti-dumping duties will take effect, removing a significant source of uncertainty that has weighed on procurement planning since KADI published its final findings in June. The outcome preserves existing trade flows into Indonesia, Southeast Asia's largest homo-PP import market, while sparing downstream plastic converters from higher raw material costs.

China fires the first shot as Vietnam's LLDPE market turns lower
China-origin LLDPE film offers fell in Vietnam toward the end of the week, with fresh price lists showing a $15/ton reduction from earlier in the week amid weakening upstream support and sluggish demand. Buying interest remained subdued, with bids staying firmly below the $1,100/ton mark.
Despite shipping disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea continuing to constrain Middle Eastern PE supply, Vietnamese buyers increasingly anticipated a moderate price correction in the coming days and weeks. The latest reductions from Chinese suppliers reinforced expectations that softer upstream costs and weak demand would outweigh supply-side support in the near term.
