TODAY’S DEVELOPMENTS
PRICE LIST · INDONESIA
Indonesia’s major extend price rally as import channels lacking and buffers thin
Indonesia's domestic polyolefin market pushed higher on Wednesday as a major producer lifted its PE and PP prices, with LLDPE film leading the increase after a rollover the previous session. The hikes reflect persistently elevated feedstock costs and a domestic market where converters have effectively abandoned imports, with regional port congestion pushing fresh overseas arrivals into the fourth quarter and leaving factories reliant on prompt local supply to avoid machinery downtime.
That squeeze has already cleared out the discounted cash term shipments that were circulating earlier in the week, with spot offers now falling in line with the producer's revised list as buyers step in for immediate cover. With converter stocks running lean and import timelines effectively off the table.

Malaysia's HDPE firms up though short of a broad pickup signal
Malaysia's domestic PE market saw a sudden pickup in trade this week, though the swift clearance reflects supply rationing rather than genuine demand recovery. An unscheduled outage at a major producer's HDPE unit, tentatively down for a significant stretch, has cut deep into domestic volumes, compounded with allocation cuts downstream owing to unfavourable feedstock conditions. At the same time, another domestic producer has yet to confirm its HDPE delivery schedule.
The firm up for now stays largely confined to HDPE, with underlying consumption still soft and many converters running at reduced rates.
