Taiwanese PVC producer lifts Asia offers as costs bite

A major regional PVC producer has moved to raise its offers into Asia for September, as mounting upstream cost pressure persists. Curbing run rates to defend margins was one of the drivers, alongside tightening export allocations. Freight costs are adding to the squeeze, with logistics bottlenecks across the region compounding the pressure. The tug-of-war within the market looks set to continue in the near term.

China's polyolefin trade flows shift inward as export momentum continues to fade

China's PP and PE export flows pulled back sharply, as regional buyers grew less reliant on Chinese material after months of elevated outbound activity. Firmer domestic demand absorbed much of the slack, signalling a market turning inward after an extended export push. Import volumes moved in the opposite direction, picking up as regional producers elsewhere sought outlets away from home.
